Sunday 12/27/09

We now have a bass and amp for the church to use!! Ben L and I were talking and he would like to learn some songs on the bass etc. We would like your input Ben W. on what songs may be easiest to learn for the 1st few times etc and then some to work on for future dates. If you could look at our song list and make a few suggestions for this Sunday then let us know. Ben L also said he would like the music with the cords as this would help. If you are coming tonight to the Christmas eve service bring some along if possible. I would like to repeat In Christ alone for this Sunday. Other than that we can pick some songs to use with the bass. I would also like to ask Joey or Boo to play with us this Sunday on drums or if Boo is comfortable with the bass etc. We can talk tonight.

Songs for Sunday 12/20/09

We will be singing many carols with the childrens story so may be not as many to sing for out opening.
O come all ye faithful
My soul is filled with Joy
One more maybe a new one if we can practice a little before church. Possibly in Christ alone or one we are more familiar with.
See you around 8:45am

I can't thank you enough!

By Becca
Here's my pick for a new song! It's too new to have a YouTube of it, to hear it go to Enter the Worship Circle's myspace and click the last song on their pop-out player, it's called, "I Can't Thank You Enough." Imagine all of us singing this together with drums and a bass! Very cool! Only a slight problem of finding the chords to this....there had to be a hitch!

By Ben...
First of all, let me apologize for the video that some of these songs are associated with. Just minimize the window and LISTEN. My intent is to bring out the version (and several of the following songs have many versions) of each song that best exemplifies the general direction that I think we could shape it based on our current abilities and instruments. By the way, we need more musicians!

Here are a few songs I'd like to try practicing. Let's come up with our own interpretations!

Great harmony potential...

Surrender, by Marc James

This has a good vibe.
He Reigns, by Peter Furler and Steve Taylor

Very Beautiful...Great lyrics.
In Christ Alone, by Stuart Townsend and Keith Getty

This one is still a ways off, I think...
Our Love is Loud, by David Crowder

Some things to listen to and think about for after Christmas time...
